Patreece Botheras set out to create activewear collections that are as functional as they are chic. She truly found her gap in the market when she launched Duskii in 2013 to convert the plain black wet suit into a luxe statement piece through adding lots of luxury details, colours and prints.
The label has since gone from strength to strength, being featured at the prestigious annual Miami Swim show and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Sydney and we love it for it’s figure smoothing texture turning every women into a James Bond Beauty!
Today we chat to Patreece about her life as Swimwear Fashion Designer and her stunning label Duskii.
1. What inspired you to start your own swimwear label?
There were no other brands in the market creating fashionable wet activewear.
I wanted to create a brand using lux neoprene and wanted it to feel chic and flattering at the same time.
I myself being such a lover of the ocean I really struggled to find something that I loved and felt amazing in which really got me thinking….I need to do something! And so the research began and not much longer Duskii was born.
2. Tell us about life as a Fashion Label founder and your plans for the future
No 2 days are the same, from working with my design team to keep creating amazing suits for our customers to researching trends, travelling to Europe to show the collection to working with my amazing team in the office. I am also a busy Mum and my girls always come first :-).
We will be introducing duskii girl soon which will be from aged 8-14, we also have many other exciting projects underway.
3. What distinguishes Duskii from other swimwear fashion labels?
We see Duskii as both an activewear and swim brand- our product is functional as well as fashionable.
The quality of our neoprene is second to none.
Our pieces are unique, yet edgy and designed to flatter.
4. Duskii is produced in amazing quality, how do you make sure your customers are getting the best design, fabric and fit possible?

5. What influenced you for your 2016/17 collection?
Duskii’s 2016 collections are inspired by the cultural mix that inhabits the north African kingdom of morocco. With Arabs, Berbers, Saharawis and Europeans all sharing this sliver of land, the richness of sensual experiences are unparalleled.
From the historic raids of the Marrakech Medina to the allure of the Moroccan hammam and oasis of the Jardin Majarelle, the Duskii collection will transport you to this world of Arabic Africa. The collection also hints to classic French colonial beauty with particular influence from French bohemian glamour of the 1970s.
The 2016 Duskii collection guarantees effortless glamour, opulent beauty and exotic allure. It is an adventurous collection for those who crave magnificent.
6. What’s your favorite piece of the 2016/17 collection and why?
That’s a tough one as I love them all!!
The Oasis scarlet red cap sleeve suits is amazing on, it’s ultra flattering and also keeps you protected to longs days at the beach, I also love the Monte Carlo Navy/White Crop and bottoms, it’s edgy, yet sporty and the navy is just gorgeous.
7. The Top Swimwear fashion trends for this summer (16/17 Aus, 17 Europe) in your opinion?
The one piece is a major trend this summer-which is great for duskii as the one piece is a heroed shape of ours which we offer in a number of styles.
Also think High waisted pants with a 50s shape & bustier styled tops.
And black swimwear will always be a trend.
Overall sport luxe inspired swimsuits are huge right now.
8. Any Swimwear fashion tips for our readers?
There are so many different styles out there to suit all body shapes- tops for bigger busts with support, high waisted for those who want the bikini style with a little more coverage, or skimpier styled bikinis.
We all have different body shapes and I think it’s important to find one that suits you and most importantly makes you feel amazing.
